Re-set, Re-adjust, Re-start, Re-focus

Re-set, Re-adjust, Re-start, Re-focus… As many times as you need to.

These words really struck home for me this past week. But unfortunately, a few frustrating moments derailed my vision of how my day would go. Life can be unpredictable, to say the least, and challenging at times. We all face moments where we feel frustrated, overwhelmed, lost, or stuck.

Once again, my coach’s voice resonated in my ears, that setbacks and failures are an inevitable part of life, and how I responded was what was necessary. That’s where the words “reset, readjust, restart, refocus … as many times as you need to” come in.

These words remind us that it’s okay not to have it all figured out, and we have the power to make the adjustments we need to move forward. Also, we need to remember that these moments do not define us, and we can reset, readjust, restart, and refocus as often as we need to.

Resetting means to begin or start over again. We can look at things with a fresh perspective by taking a step back and resetting our mindset. Sometimes, all it takes is a fresh start to regain footing and stop the negative self-talk.

Readjusting means changing our expectations and plans. It could mean setting new, more achievable goals or seeking help from others. It’s vital to remember that circumstances change, and sometimes the path we envisioned for ourselves may no longer be feasible. Therefore, it’s crucial to reassess and revise our plans to better align with our current realities.

Restarting means beginning again. Sometimes we need to hit the reset button and start over. Yes, this can be challenging, especially when we’ve invested a lot of money, resources, time, and energy into a project, business, or particular path. However, restarting is a powerful way to build momentum and motivation. In addition, it’s freeing, letting us let go of what’s not working and focus on what’s truly important.

Refocusing means directing our attention and energy to what matters most. In our fast-paced world, we can get sidetracked by the constant barrage of demands on our time, chaos, noise, and information. By consciously refocusing our energy and attention, we can zero in on what truly matters and maintain clarity and purpose.

To sum this up, these words remind us that setbacks are an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve. Let’s remember that it’s okay to not have everything figured out and that we do have the power to change what we need to succeed.

Feel free to reset, readjust, restart, and refocus as often as possible. It’s all part of our journey to a successful and fulfilling life.
