Soul Coaching’s®️ Triumph: Silencing the ‘Not Enough’ Gremlin

I was sitting quietly with my caramel vanilla cream coffee, looking out the window as the shadows from our white pine trees stretched across the peaceful green lawn. The sounds of nature formed a gentle symphony around me. It was one of those simple moments that felt easy to savor until the familiar voice showed up.

The “Not Enough” gremlin.

Suddenly, my mind started telling me all the things I should be doing instead.

So I paused.

I closed my eyes and began breathing deeply into my abdomen, slowly letting each breath flow in and out. As I inhaled, I silently said to myself: I’m inhaling peace. As I exhaled, I release the shoulds.

Inhaling: I am enough in this moment.

Exhaling: Goodbye, gremlin.

When I opened my eyes again, I had one of those quiet little ah-ha moments. This is the practice. This is how we return to the present. This is how we savor what’s right in front of us.

Naturally, I reached for my journal and began writing about that “Not Enough” gremlin, the one I know many of you are familiar with, too.

In our world today, one of the most contagious beliefs we carry is the idea that we’re somehow not enough. That whisper shows up in subtle ways, convincing us we must do more, be more, achieve more just to validate our existence.

I still hear that voice sometimes. In fact, I heard it this very morning.

The difference now? It no longer controls my day. It doesn’t pull me out of the present or steal the joy from life’s simple moments.

But it wasn’t always that way.

There was a time when I lived by a to-do list that seemed longer than a novel. Every unchecked box felt like failure. My inner dialogue constantly asked, Why can’t you do more? Why can’t you be more? It felt like running a marathon where the finish line kept moving further away.

Over the years, I found support and healing through Reiki, Transformational Breath, and mindfulness practices. Each one helped me develop more self-compassion and awareness. Still, something felt incomplete, like the gremlin had been quieted but not fully released.

Then I discovered Denise Linn’s 28-day Soul Coaching®️ program.

Something shifted.

Soul Coaching®️ isn’t just something you do, it’s something you experience. Each 28-day cycle gently guided me deeper into myself. Layer by layer, I began reconnecting with who I truly am beneath expectations, pressure, and old stories.

Interestingly, my to-do list didn’t shrink because I started doing more.

It shrank because I began recognizing what truly mattered.

The gremlin’s voice slowly lost its power. I started understanding that my worth isn’t measured by what I accomplish in a day. It’s reflected in the energy I bring to each moment.

My self-talk softened.

Where there used to be criticism, there is now kindness.

Where there used to be pressure, there is now presence.

Where there used to be “not enough,” there is now awareness that I already am enough.

Instead of chasing an imaginary finish line, I began to enjoy the journey itself. The impossible standards that once weighed so heavily on me started to feel distant and unimportant. I discovered that peace doesn’t come from finishing everything; it comes from releasing the pressure to be everything.

And one of the most powerful realizations?

There isn’t a final destination.

This work is a journey. A beautiful, winding, perfectly imperfect journey of releasing stuck energy and returning to inner peace.

The discoveries you make along the way are uniquely yours. The layers you peel back are yours. The growth is yours.

If you’ve been feeling the weight of expectations pressing down on you, or if that “Not Enough” gremlin has been whispering a little too loudly lately, I invite you to explore Soul Coaching®️ for yourself. I’m always happy to answer questions and help you decide whether this path feels like a good fit for you.

It’s not a magic fix.

It is a compassionate, supportive process that helps you reconnect with who you already are.

Here’s to quieting the gremlin. Here’s to coming home to yourself.

And remember it’s never about being more.

It’s about being you.

Till next time, keep that inner light shining bright.
